The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the use of additional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funds that are intended to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the corona virus pandemic. Activities must primarily benefit low and moderate income persons. New Kensington proposes to use the grant funds of $193,732 as follows:

The proposed allocation provides 100% of funds that benefit low mod income persons. The proposed activities will not cause displacement. City Council may approve the CDBG CV application at the general business meeting on August 3, 2020 at City Hall, 301 11th St. New Kensington, PA. Please note that if it becomes required to hold this meeting virtually, notice regarding this change, as well as access information, will be posted on the City’s website at: www.newkensingtonpa.org.
All interested parties are invited to attend the public meeting and give oral testimony at the public meeting or present written comments concerning the needs of the community, proposed CDBG CV activities, the prior use of funds, as well as the CDBG program in general.
